Best Age of Sigmar damage calculator
Last updated:
Three free tools answer "how much damage will this do?" for Age of Sigmar: Order of Battle's Combat Calculator, AoS Statshammer, and Rolegenerator's AoS calculator. The big difference is how the stats get in. The other two make you type or pick every number by hand. Order of Battle reads them from the warscroll.
The three calculators
- Order of Battle: a free browser app for Age of Sigmar 4th edition. Pick attackers and a defender from the warscrolls, tap buffs, and read average kills, damage, chance to wipe, and a kill chart from 4,000 simulated fights. It lives next to the list builder, Play, and Battle record.
- AoS Statshammer (aos-statshammer.damonhook.com): a community tool by Damon Hook. Build up to five units from hand-typed weapon profiles, add modifiers like rerolls and leader bonuses, and compare average damage against every save. Custom simulation count, JSON and PDF export. Its GitHub says a rework for AoS 4th edition is in progress.
- Rolegenerator (rolegenerator.com): a dice calculator with dropdowns for attacks, hit, wound, rend, damage, rerolls, and a long list of crit effects. Each click rolls the combat once; after three clicks it shows averages and odds.
No typing: stats come from the warscroll
Typing a unit by hand is slow and easy to get wrong: one wrong rend or damage value and the answer is useless. Doing it mid-game is worse. In Order of Battle you pick the unit, and its weapons, crit abilities, and mortal damage abilities come straight from the warscroll. Reinforced units and Regiments of Renown included.
That also makes the Age of Sigmar question easy to ask: a hero and a unit, or two units, piling into one target. Add them all as attackers and the buffs stack in every simulated fight. Neither of the other calculators combines units against one target.

When AoS Statshammer fits
You want to line up several custom profiles side by side, test a homebrew or a unit that is not in the warscrolls, use rerolls, or export the results to PDF.
When Rolegenerator fits
You want a quick dice check for one weapon profile, or you need one of its many crit options or a ward that only works against mortal damage.
When Order of Battle fits
You want the real matchup fast: actual units, several attackers against one target, charge and All-out Attack in one tap, and the chance to wipe. Use it while building a list, mid-game, or after a loss. No spells and no rerolls yet. Step by step: Age of Sigmar Combat Calculator guide.
Questions
What is the best Age of Sigmar damage calculator?
It depends on what you want. Order of Battle is fastest for real matchups: pick units from the warscrolls and it simulates the fight. AoS Statshammer is best for comparing up to five custom profiles side by side and exporting them. Rolegenerator is a quick one-profile dice roller.
Do I have to type unit stats into Order of Battle?
No. Pick the attacking and defending units from the Age of Sigmar 4th edition warscrolls. Weapons, crit abilities, and mortal damage abilities are read for you. You can still enter a custom defender if you want.
Which AoS calculator handles several units attacking one target?
Order of Battle. Add a hero and one or more units as attackers against the same defender, and every weapon and buff is rolled together in each simulated fight.
Does Order of Battle support rerolls?
Not yet. AoS Statshammer and Rolegenerator both support rerolls, so use one of them when a reroll decides the matchup.
